Mollie's bookmark is so cute! Don't you think so? :) When I first saw it I had to hold back my scream of how cute this bookmark is. (What a sight, just picture it. Me, sitting at the computer, trying to not to scream at the cutest bookmark I have ever seen in my entire life. Oh yes...haha) You can see more of the cuteness, here. :)

God Lovers!

So you've probably been wondering what that button that says 'God-Lovers' is all about over there. -----> Well, today, I'm gonna tell you. Ready? :)

For probably about two months now, I've been thinking about having a month Proverbs. Where everyday you read one chapter from Proverbs.
One chapter.
Per day.
Easy, right?
There are 31 chapters in Proverbs and there are 31 days in October. See where I'm heading? I'll be reading one chapter per day in October and so I will have read the entire book of Proverbs in one month.
I think I can do it.
I think you can do it too.
At first, this was just going to be a thing I was going to do by myself. But then I thought, "Why don't I tell some of my friends to join me?" So I did. And then I got a better thought.
Why don't you guys join me?

So take out your Bible and flip open to Proverbs. One day - one chapter- one month. I think we can do it. The chapters in Proverbs are pretty short, so take out maybe five to ten minutes out of your busy day and read a chapter. Don't worry, I might just have to lock myself in the bathroom just to get my chapter in - you're not alone! So...

Here's the official start of my online Bible Study
open for anybody to join
called, God-Lovers.
:)
Every Thursday, I'll post my favorite chapter from that week and tell you what I thought about it. I'll have a few questions and, if you want, you can comment with your answer. Also, in those posts, I'll include what you will read. So here's the schedule for this week:
Saturday: October 1st, Read Proverbs 1
Sunday: October 2nd, Read Proverbs 2
Monday: October 3rd, Read Proverbs 3
Tuesday: October 4th, Read Proverbs 4
Wednesday: October 5th, Read Proverbs 5
Thursday: October 6th, Read Proverbs 6
Friday: October 7th, Read Proverbs 7

I may have a few project ideas in my mind for this... I'm still not sure. We'll see what happens. :) Let me know in the comment section below if you have any questions... :)
Welcome to God-Lovers!

My Craft Area (before)

Do you know what time it is? Oh, yes. It's time for re-organizing, re-decorating, and re-arranging my craft area.
Oh yeah.
I'm so excited!
I finally decided that I needed to actually get crafty on my craft area. You know? Come up with cute and fun ways to organize my crafty clutter (which I had to clear half of it off so you could actually see my desk).
My school books take up half of my crafting area so I'll come up with something for that area too. :)
Look at that tub of rice (It's for stuffing into the bottom of toys so once you finish them, the won't flop over). I think I can do something better than that. :)
Talk about craft clutter. This is a shelf I'll definitely be working on. :)
For this project, I'll be using items that you probably would have around your house. Probably little nick nacks that you would think are junk but really do have some sweet organizing potential. I'll keep you posted with my progress and the ideas I come up with so maybe you can organize your craft room too. :)

faith day

Today, I'm teaming up with my new blogg-y buddy, Andee at Bearing Fruit, for Faith Day. I'm so thankful and excited for this and I wanted to say, THANK YOU, ANDEE, for helping me out on this project. Over at her blog, you can find her post for her impressive painting and Proverbs 3:5 post. Make sure you stop by! :)
Trust in the Lord with all your
HEART,
and lean not on your own
understanding.
-Proverbs 3:5
That's the theme - Proverbs 3:5. To me, this verse seems to ask a lot. I mean, trust in the Lord with all your heart and and give up leaning onto yourself?
That's some tough stuff.
But it's possible.
I realized that when I asked for Jesus to be #1 in my life, Jesus was really easy going with giving me all of Him. But when it came to giving me all to Him, that's when the "tough stuff" comes in.
Giving up control.
That's hard.
Really hard.
I like to plan out, prepare, and have control. And God wanted me (and still does!) to leave that to Him because I know that He's already got my future planned out, He'll prepare me in ways I don't know, but the only way He can do that is I have to give my control to Him so He can take control.
I'm at the time in my life where I say, "Okay, God. It's up to You now. I've tried it my way, but that didn't work like I planned out and prepared. I give up my control so you can work it out for me because my way is just not clicking - have Your way God."
And that's where this comes in - Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Trust.
Even harder.
It's one thing giving up control - and it's another thing with trust. I have a hard time trusting people - even God sometimes. But I think that's a part of our human nature. We like to know what happens before we have to take that first step over bridge. You can't see the end of the bridge - all you can see is the small light at the end, so the only thing you can hang onto now is the trust in your heart.
STAY CALM. Once you give up control and then trust you might just want to explode. Been there - done that, so I can say this. :) Life can get a little "edge-y". It might feel like it's the end of the world because the cloud that has just entered you has a storm going on inside. And there's one thing about going into a storm alone.
It hurts.
But when you go into a storm with Jesus - who's holding your control and trust - there's
Peace.
And when the storm hurts you.
He can heal your hurt.
And when it seems like the world is going to end.
Jesus can make a new beginning.
Oh yeah.
Now that is what I like to call
Awesome- Jesus- Stuff.

So have Your way, God. I may think my idea is good - but Yours is great. I may think my dreams will make me happy, but Your idea for my future will make me burst with joy. I may think my way of planning and preparing myself is a good thing, but You're ways are better-
Majestic.
Beautiful.
Loving.
AWESOME.
Have my life - make it Yours. Have my heart - fill it with Your love. Have my dreams - make my future. Have me, God.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding... -Proverbs 3:5
What I have for you is a little notepad that you can make as a reminder to love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Fill it with grocery lists, notes, and scribbles of all sorts...
Fill it with awesomeness. :)

So what you'll need is
  • ribbon
  • a pencil
  • stamps (optional)
  • cardstock (white\cream & color of your choice)
  • paper doily
  • regular paper
  • cardboard
  • gluestick
  • scissors
  • hole punch
With your cardboard, cut a retangle to be 7" long and 3 1/2" wide.
Next, place the cardboard on the colored cardstock and trace with your pencil. Then cut out.
With your regular paper, use the cardboard to trace out the sheets where you will scribble out your awesomeness. Cut out as many rectangles of paper that you would like to have in your notepad.
Now you should have three layers - the cover, the colored cardstock - the sheets of paper, where all your notes will be stored - and the cardboard bottom - so your notepad won't flop everwhere. :)
Now, with your white\creamy colored cardstock, cut it to be 7" long and 2 1/2" wide. I used stamps and for some words, I wrote with a pen, to copy Proverbs 3:5 onto the center of this piece.
COPY THIS ONTO THE SMALLER CARDSTOCK PAPER:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding...
Proverbs 3:5

This is what will make your cover.
Coat the back of the Proverbs 3:5 paper with your gluestick.
Place it down on the center of the colored cardstock paper. Press down.
Now glue the top of the colored and Proverbs 3:5 cardstock paper.
With paper doily, place half of it on the top where you just glued.
Now flip over cover and trim the other half of doily off. You will also want to trim off the doily edges on sides. Use picture above as a guide.
Set cover aside.
With the cardboard, on the very top mark with your pencil where you want to hole punch.
Punch out your markings. I used a heavy duty hole puncher. Oh yeah. :)
Now with the inside paper, put the cardboard on top of the pile.
Trace the circles.

It should look something like this.

Hole punch!

With a long strip of ribbon, thread half of it through the cardboard, inside paper, and cover. Use picture as guide.

And with other half, do the same and tie into a bow.
There you go!
Your very own Proverbs 3:5 notepad. :)
Make sure you stop by Andee's Faith Day post! Which you can find, here.
Happy Faith Day!

Pin It!| "I will wait for you" @ Being Emma

"Pin It!" is my new series that I will be posting randomly. It's kinda like a virtual bulletin board. I have a bulletin board on my wall that I pin up quotes, verses, pictures, and just about anything that brings a smile on my face. I decided that I should have one here too where I can post my favorite and latest quotes & verses as well as a blog post from one of my fave blogs that really stuck out at me that day. :) Welcome to my bulletin board!
Emma over at Being Emma wrote about exactly what has been on my mind lately. It's one of those thoughts in the back of my head that pops up when I least expect it. What she wrote about was waiting for your future husband - Mr. Right. Even though he's a long ways down the road for me, I pray for him and hope that God has been working in his heart. In the meantime, I've been working on giving my all to God. I realized that God gave all of Him to me but I didn't give all of me to Him. So it's definitely a work in progress!
You can find Emma's post here. Also, the video that Emma included in her post was awesome. I absolutely loved it. Definitely watch it, you won't regret it!
Emma, if you're reading this, thanks so much for your encouraging post. It made my day! :)

embroidered doily artwork ("doily doodling!")

This is what I call doily doodling! I love this project that Mollie at Wild Olive designed, which you can find over here. I think this is such an awesome idea! I mean, embroidery+ dolies= awesomeness! And I say that because I've working on this cute, simple project in and out of my load of school.
Do a few math problems means do a few stitches... learn about Albert Einstein in science and take a break and do some more stitching. :) haha
Oh, and I hope you don't mind my notebooks in the backround. I've been a little lazy on clearing out the stacks of school books surrounding me on my desk.
Well... :) I better go finish up history and do this project later. :)
Happy doily doodling!

the car ride home...

I'm back!! :) Did you miss me?
Just thought I'd share some of the beauty I saw just outside my car window. It was so "purty". :) There were clouds scattered here and there in the sky, the fields were green, and... it was just a great way to end the trip. These pictures were taken through my car window- hope you don't mind the blurriness in some of the pictures and the dead bugs...- from Lodi (it's about an hour from Sacramento) down to an area near Los Angeles.
Look how green that field is! Whoa!
And then the clouds... I couldn't help but think that these are the dust of God's feet. I know there's a verse talking about that somewhere in the Bible... Guess He was taking a stroll on my side of the earth today. Hope the weather was nice up there God. And, boy, you're dust is so much prettier than mine! :)

on a trip once more...

Well, my friends, I'm out of town once again. I seem to be traveling a lot lately... don't ya think? It's a shorter trip though- just a few days. In fact, I get home on Wednesday. In the meantime, I'm having a good time. It's a lot of fun. :)

Anyway, talk to you later all! :)

God picks me up when I fall

I was listening to this one song called, Have Your Way, by Britt Nicole and everything in this one song is exactly how I'm feeling. It's been a rough and long week and this one song seemed to put the feelings that are in my heart into words.
The song starts like this,
"Feels like I've been here forever, Why can't you just intervene?
Do you see the tears keep falling? And I'm falling apart at the seams.
But you never said this road would be easy, But you said you would never leave,
And you never promised that this life wasn't hard, But you promised you would still take care of me.
So I'll stop searching for the answers, I'll stop praying for an escape,
And I'll trust you God with where I am and believe that you will have your way."
(you can listen to this song, here.)
God didn't promise that when we believe in Him all our problems will go away, but He did promise that He would comfort us and pick us up during the trials of this life. It reminds me of this poem,

Footprints in the Sand
by Mary Stevenson
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me becasue I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow, or defeat,
I could only see one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you."
We may fall down but God can pick us up again. He never stops loving, he never stops caring, he never stops forgiving. He wants to neal beside you and put you back together again.
I realize that I may have trials in my life and the light at the end of the road may be dim, but I have God with me to give me a hand when I get hurt and I have him to pick me up and carry me again when I fall down.
When God came into my heart- it wasn't a feeling, it was a promise. He promised me that he would never leave me and would still continue to love me through the high and low. Sure, I mess up a lot, but God doesn't care. He forgives and then he forgets- that's one of the great qualities about God.
I may not like what's going on in my life, but God's my comfort during the trials. He's there- he's here. He's my hope when my path is dark- he guides me across. He never lets go when you grasp and look to him for help.

Inspiration Friday| Carina's Craftblog with Sewing the seeds of...

This week, I was inspired by Carina's stitching\doodling. I think it's so much fun to doodle with stitching, and this really inspired me to do some more! :) I love the colors and I love the design of it. It's so cute! You can find this great post here...

the new look

I bet you've been noticing all the changes I've been doing around here. It's been quite a lot of work but I'm really enjoying the outcome so far. Of course this process has been full of
typing
thinking
ideas
deleting
writing
looking
picking
choosing
a ton of Pinterest
debating
a lot of clicking of my mouse
But I love the beauty that is coming out of it. It's also been a lot of work figuring out what I like. I have a tendency to try and make my blog similar to my favorites so this time I decided that this blog has to have my personality all over it. Know what I'm saying?
Well, I wanted to know, what do you think? Any suggestions anyone? I would be glad to hear your thoughts! This blog is for you and I was just wondering if any of you had some ideas...
I'm open to anything! :)

color moods: yellow & white

Lately, I've been in love with the color combination yellow and white. I love how you can use these two colors to make something modern yet vintage at the same time. Here are a few of my inspirations! :)
